Common Grounds, Belfast

I volunteer at a fair trade not-for-profit cafe called Common Grounds in Belfast.
It is situated behind Queen's University at 12-24 University Avenue.
All our coffee, tea and sugar is fair trade, all our food is locally sourced, and a large proportion of our staff our volunteers. All profits go to projects in the developing world, which are chosen at regular intervals by our customers.

There is a new independant coffee shop in canterbury which is very close to starbucks, it's very pretty inside and hae a very classical layout - it is near the body shop on the opposite side of the road to the cathedral and starbucks, when i next walk past i'll grab the name.

Also Morelli's which is by debenhams and the cathedral.

Located at the top of the old high street near to whetherspoons, it plays soft Jazz music and has an interesting fresh Menu, no more expensive than the big chains and food is far nicer.

Chambers Coffee Shop
Located next to chambers pub, near the abbey national. Really comfortable coffee shop, lovely coffee. Sometimes can get a bit packed but for obvious reasons, also does really good cheap food...and just above chambers bar. Really nice friendly staff and very chilled out.

The reason i set this community up was so that people would have a chance to tell everyone about independant and or fair trade coffee shops, or fair trade suppliers, in their corner of the UK.

It's an open community so anyone can post but recently diffrentcolours pointed out that there was no base for this in the UK. Well now there is.
